The Work

I started looking closely at the beautiful textures of stucco when I first moved to San Diego.   I remember being inspired by these textures in one of the malls.  Stucco is everywhere and thrives in hot dry weather.  Mexican Art inspired me too with the use of plaster textures and bright colors.

I find I am hesitant to explain all the ways I use stucco to make art.  It is about taking a common building method and stretching the boundaries.  I like to make things that last for a long time outdoors.  It is an original process and I am always experimenting.
